    Sonic made it home, he opened the door and saw Tails, "Ah!" Tails buddy you scared me" said Sonic as he was holding his chest from the surprise attack. "Sonic were where you?" asked Tails, "Oh nothing...just....walking" lied Sonic, "Your lying" said Tails as he already knew wen Sonic was lying, "Look wasn't anything important said Sonic, "Alright" said Tails, "Tails can I ask you a favor?" said Sonic, Tails looked at Sonic, "Yes?" said Tails, "Can I take after tomorrow of please?" asked Sonic, "Why?" asked Tails, "Please Tails, I'm not feeling my sefl this days" said Sonic, "Well I agree with you on that" thought Tails. Tails was thinking of what was wrong with his big bro, he thought if Sonic wanted the day of after tomorrow it must be really serious, "Please Tails I'll even do double work tomorrow if I have too" said Sonic beging for that day of, "Geez double work it must be really important to him" thought Tails then he took a deep breath, "Fine, but remember about the festival Sonic you know this is important for the shop, you can't just take a day off just because you want to, remember the village is counting on us" said Tails, "Don't worry bro" said Sonic he was happy that his little bro gave him the day of, but yet Tails was right the festival was going to be the most important event. "Well then go to bed, you need all your rest if you are going to do double job tomorrow" said Tails, Sonic nob and went to bed. The next morning Tails woke up to find breakfast for him on the table and a note, Tails went to the table and read the note.

Dear Tails

   I went ahead to the shop to work my double jobs, I made you breakfast hope you enjoy.

Tails looked at the plate it was eggs with bacon and French toast, "Man he really wanted the day of tomorrow, maybe I should go check on him after I'm done" thought Tails, as soon as he finished he got dress and went to the shop, Sonic was in doing most things he seemed almost done, well he is the fastest thing alive, "Oh Goodmorning Tails" said Sonic waving a hand at him, "Hey Sonic, I see you got up early this morning" said Tails, "Yeah I mean if I'm going to take the day of tomorrow I should atleast do the double work" said Sonic, then a few minutes pass and a white bat entered "Goodmorning darlings" said Rouge, "Morning Rouge" said both Tails and Sonic waving a hand at her, then Knuckles and Cream came in, "Goodmorning Tails, Mr. Sonic, Ms. Rouge" said the cute little Rabbit, "Morning Cream" they all said to her, "Guys I have news for you, Sonic is taking the day of tomorrow and his doing double work for today" said Tails, everyone had widen eyes since Sonic never takes a day of, except the days that the shop is close, "Sonic darling are you feeling okay?" asked Rouge, "I'm fine Rouge" said Sonic, "Then why the surprise?" asked Rouge, "You never take a day of" finished saying Rouge, "I just really need this" said Sonic, "Alright then but if somethings wrong you can tell us" said Rouge. After a while Amy entered with some lunch, Amy always did that everyday she sometimes helped them, and sometimes had to leave to take care of her brothers and sisters while her parents are working. "Hey Ames" said Sonic as the pink hedgehog came in, "Sonic Good morning, and to you all as well, I brought lunch as always" said Amy, "Yeah thanks Amy" said Tails taking the basket, "So how are you guys doing?" asked Amy, "It's hard but we are almost finished with the decorations, tomorrow we are going to start decorating the village" said Rouge, "Really? Can I help I love to decorate" said Amy, Tails looked at her, "Well we are going to need a hand since Sonic is going to take the day off, so sure" said Tails, Amy was jumping happy, "Yay can't wait" said Amy exited. After a while everyone was exhausted Sonic more than anyone since he did double work, but that didn't stop him for where he was going, "Where is Sonic going?" asked Knuckles, "I don't know he always seems to go somewhere after work, last night I ask Sonic where he was, but he didn't answer he said it wasn't important" said Tails. "Strange" thought Knuckles, After while Sonic finally made it and found Shadow, "Hi Shadow" said Sonic with a big smile, "Hello Sonic" said Shadow and gave him a small smile, he realized some bandages in his fingers, "Sonic what happened?" asked Shadow as he snatch Sonic's hand, he stroke on the bandages gently with his finger trying not to cut him more with his claw, Sonic was blushing and lowered his ears, "Well since I was going to take the day of tomorrow, I decided to make double work today" said Sonic, then Shadow gently kiss his bandage fingers, "So your taking the day of tomorrow? Those that mean we get to spend more time together?" said Shadow with a playful smile, "Well I guess so" said Sonic. Sonic and Shadow staid under the tree Shadow was lied down on his stomach and Sonic lie his back on Shadow's side, they were laughing "Hahahaha strange things do happened to you, Sonic" Shadow was actually laughing its been years since he didn't laugh, Sonic thought it was the most cute laugh in his life. "Yeah, you should have been in my house yesterday, I went home and my lil bro saw me, he was asking me questions, where was I, to bad I was a terrible liar" said Sonic, "So what did you tell him?" asked Shadow, "I said not to worry and that it wasn't important" said Sonic, "You should be more careful if they find out you and I are friends, who knows how they will react" said Shadow, "I really wouldn't mind if they do, because if they were my friends they would accept it, but I understand that it's hard for you to make intact with the out world" said Sonic he gave him a gentle hug, Sonic had to wrap his arms around Shadow's neck since he was a big Werehog, Shadow blush and cuddle with Sonic's face witch made him giggle cutely, Shadow smile with his eyes half close. "Sonic would you stay with me?" asked Shadow, Sonic blush and let got a little so he and Shadow would look face to face, "What?" asked Sonic, "For the night stay with me at my castle, I would appreciate it" said Shadow, Sonic stared at those beautiful red ruby eyes, Sonic couldn't say no, "O-okay" said Sonic with a little blush, Shadow gave him a little smile and cuddle his muzzle with Sonic's, "Thank you" said Shadow. After a while Sonic and Shadow stayed under the tree, Shadow seemed relax and sorta happy with Sonic around his the only creature in his life that understands him, and cares for him, Shadow was starting to really open up to this hedgehog, "What should I do? I want him to be safe with me, I want him to stay here by my side, lie like this forever. It was getting very dark, "Sonic I think we should go inside, this forest can be very dangerous at night" said Shadow getting up (Wen I mean getting up I mean in his 4 feet) "Okay" said Sonic rubbing one eye he was tired, they both headed to the castle Sonic just followed Shadow, they made it to the castle, it was dark and it match the forest tree like as if he was hiding, from the outside it seemed abandon but web he entered it didn't seem like the outside. The castle inside seem very fancy as if Shadow made sure everything would be organized every single day, "Wow Shadow looks like you always keep this place neat" said Sonic as he looked around, "I'm glad you like my place" said Shadow, Sonic yawn rubbing one of his eyes again, Shadow realized it, "Your tired aren't you?" asked Shadow, "Yeah a little, where do I sleep?" asked Sonic, "You can sleep in the guess room, or you can sleep with me if it's not much trouble" said Shadow he had a light blush, Sonic blush a little, "Okay then" said Sonic as he followed Shadow to his room, "Why didn't I take the guess room? Why did I say yes to sleeping with him? oh man I have to control my emotions" thought Sonic, they both enter Shadow's room, his room had dark purple walls, the floor had a carpet that match, the room had a door to go to the balcony, and another for the bathroom, he has a king size bed that looked for a King they had dark red covers, Shadow lie down at one side and Sonic lie down on the other, Shadow just stare at him even if the only thing he could stare was his quills and back, Sonic had his eyes close not asleep, Shadow just got a little close he put a hand over Sonic and lie his head on Sonic's, they both blush, Sonic gave Shadow a little kiss on the muzzle "Good night Shadow" said Sonic knowing he was now asleep. Both sleep the night away, the next day Tails woke up finding out that Sonic never came home last night, he was starting to get worry, so he eat breakfast and went to the shop to find the others. "Tails sweet heart good morning" said Rouge, "Morning Rouge" said Tails still worried, "Is something wrong Tails?" asked Rouge, "It's just Sonic didn't came home last night" said Tails, "Knuckles you mean to tell us Sonic was gone, you know how dangerous could it be if he was in the forest deep at night" said angrily Knuckles, "What was he thinking about?" finished Knuckles with fist high, "Oh Knukie would you stop worrying I mean it's not like Sonic can't take care of him self, his strong and fast remember" said Rouge making a point. "Alright but that still doesn't convince me" said Tails, he was worried sick about his big bro. At Shadow's castle Sonic was starting to wake up, "Uhh?" he looked around the room, Shadow was gone, Sonic went down stair it took him a while since the place was huge, wen made it down he saw the kitchen with a delicious meal, "Maybe he made it for me" thought Sonic with a blush, he sat down and eat it, it was delicious "I should thank him" thought Sonic as he went looking for Shadow, but then came into a big room with many books, "Wow it was be a library" thought Sonic, then book fell on the floor for no reason, "Uh?" Sonic went where it fell and picked it up, the title was "Selfish for love" Sonic couldn't help but to read the book, and so he sat down and started to read "Years ago in the village of Land of Aphrodite lived a young King, the King was great to his people and kind, his people would never use the word "selfish" in his name. One day the villagers thought that King might be lonely without a Queen, but lucky for them the pink star appeared in the sky every year to grant wishes. The villagers gather around to wish for the King to find a mate, the next day princesses and prince, ladies and gentlemen came to the castle to only be rejected by the King. The villagers were ashamed they found a phrase that the word "selfish" would go on the kings name and that phrase was "Selfish for love" Sonic couldn't read anymore because the rest was teared and ripped of, and also the part were they mention the Kings name was tainted. Sonic was curious to see what happened to the King "Did he ever found love? Was this true or just a story ?" thought Sonic, in that moment Shadow entered the library, "Sonic?" asked Shadow, "AHHH! Shadow you scared me" said Sonic, "What are you reading?" asked Shadow rising his eye brow.
